The Shoe House was designed to balance strength and breathability. A series of delicate components are precisely milled and joined to create a rigid but visually light storage solution. Architectural in form, it can live inside or outdoors.
The example shown here is made primarily from cherry, with a charred pine top. Called yakisugi in Japanese carpentry, the burnt surface acts as a kind of natural vapor barrier, protecting the wood from rot.
Available in a variety of wood species including oak and cedar.
