Ishi Column

$1,100.00

An evolution of the Incense Column. The technique is borrowed from a practice in Japanese carpentry called hikari-tsuke, in which a structural column is scribed to the stone foundation it sits on top of. The process of scribing is a tedious and slow one but the result gives the impression that the two mediums are melting into one another.

Given that no two stones are identical, each piece is one of a kind.

Dimensions: 7” W x 7” D x 18” H

Lead time: 6-8 weeks
